Those descriptions answer different questions and should not be used interchangeably.<\/p>\n<h2>Understand the context<\/h2>\n<p>Kew&#x27;s discussion of native plants treats endemic plants as those not naturally found elsewhere. Native species can have a wider natural range. The boundary of a species&#x27; distribution and its extinction risk are separate assessments; risk needs the relevant conservation evaluation.<\/p>\n<h2>Try a learning activity<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Make separate cards for native range, endemism and risk.<\/li>\n<li>Write a question under each heading.<\/li>\n<li>Explain why a photograph cannot establish a complete range.<\/li>\n<li>Record the source and date for any conservation assessment.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Reflect on the evidence<\/h2>\n<p>Compare your record with the source. Which details did you observe directly, which did you learn from the reading, and which remain uncertain? Keep those answers separate.
